January 17th, 2023 – Romeo Santos, singer, songwriter, producer, and a global icon for the genre of bachata, and Latin music as a whole, surprises his fans with an artistic and symbolic music video of love for his single, “Solo Conmigo.” The single is part of Romeo’s most recent album release, Formula Vol. 3. The music video represents Romeo’s most intimate, personal and socially illustrative visual ever in his career. Today, as a single, “Solo Conmigo,” has +500k videos created on TikTok.
Directed by Fernando Lugo, “Solo Conmigo” takes Romeo’s fans through the connection of a love that was undisclosed and deep without the world watching.
In September 2022, Romeo released Formula Vol. 3, his fifth studio album as a solo artist. The album was recognized as one of the top 100 albums of 2022 and one of the top 50 Latin albums in 2022 by Rollingstone Magazine. In addition, Rollingstone En Español recognized Formula Vol. 3 as one of the 22 best bodies of work and Billboard Magazine also considered the album as one of the best 50 albums of 2022.
Currently, Formula Vol.3 is multi-platinum for its sales and currently obtains +1.1B streams. The first single release from the album, “Sus Huellas” is 4x platinum. Romeo continues to be platinum globally with his other releases from the album – “Bebo,” “El Pañuelo” featuring Latin artist Rosalía, “Me Extraño” featuring Regional Mexican artist Christian Nodal and another solo single “SIRI” featuring Latin artist Chris Lebrón.
In addition, Romeo is platinum for his single “Sin Fin” featuring global superstar Justin Timberlake. This single is the first bachata genre focused song for Justin Timberlake; a formula that Romeo is known to collaborate with mainstream American artists with his infused sounds of bachata, R&B, Hip-hop and Latin urban. Romeo is called the “King of Bachata” for placing a genre based from the Dominican Republic (where his father is from – his mother is from Puerto Rico) to a blended genre that has exposed the cultured sound with his New York City upbringing to the world. Throughout his career, Romeo has achieved in crossing-over top international artists into his bachata genre such as Usher, Drake, Lil’ Wayne, Akon, Nicki Minaj, Carlos Santana, Marc Anthony, Don Omar, and many more. He is also one of the founders of the top charting and award-winning bachata group, Aventura, which together they shifted the genre of bachata to be non-traditional by being “Spanglish” and relatable.
Today, Romeo is one of the most listened to Latin artists on Spotify. Recently, he announced his tour, “Formula Vol. 3 – The Tour” in Europe and South America for 2023, which with the first few dates broke records in sales in stadiums within Lima, Peru, Chile, where he sold out 8 stadium dates and in Madrid, Spain for three sold out nights. In addition, he kicks off his tour on February 9th in Lima, Peru.
